Jesus’s Sacrificial Death
March 19th, 2010 | Category: JesusIf Jesus died for our sins, made himself a sacrifice, so that the original sin can be done away with, this concept does not seem to add up, when one considers that Jesus according Pauline Christians, came back to life.
What type of sacrifice is it, when the person will not even really die. So, Jesus sacrificed himself, was dead for three days, but I suppose since he was God, he was not really dead, and then he came back to life after three days. And if God died for three day, who was running the universe? This drama, is not a drama of sacrifice, it may have been had Jesus let himself die forever. So, he (Jesus) did not die…..and Jesus really was not a sacrifice.
Also another point that goes along with this is that if God, had His only so son killed for the sins of others, how just is such a God? Is such a God really loving who shows love to the mere humans and punishes his own son? So, is God indiscriminate in who the sacrifice was, that it does not matter if it was someone innocent or criminal?
Did Jesus himself feel that God was unfair, when he prayed for the cup to be passed?
